NOW YOU SEE IT
The British firm Heritage Research has developed a collection influenced by military and civilian clothing worn during the Vietnam War. This can most obviously be seen in the liberal use of the Gold Tiger camouflage, a version of the tiger-stripe camo most associated with the American forces in Vietnam. The British woven cotton fabric appears on short-sleeve shirts, jackets, gilets, shorts and combat trousers. The Longline waxed parka costs ?395 ( coggles.com ).

ON YOUR MARKS

This nylon gilet is available in the five colours of the Olympic rings and is part of Prada's excellent new sport-themed capsule collection. It costs ?280 (020-7647 5000; prada.com ).

HIGH SEAS, HIGH END

The Louis Vuitton Cup is a yachting competition in which the victorious team gets to challenge the reigning champion in the America's Cup. In anticipation of next year's series of races, the French luxury goods company has launched a range of products that will appeal to sailing fans as well as enthusiasts of other outdoor pursuits. The collection includes ready-to-wear, footwear, leather products and accessories. Sunglasses cost ?245, this waterproof cotton canvas holdall is ?1,750, and the binoculars with Carl Zeiss lenses cost an eye-watering ?8,650 (020-7399 4050; louisvuitton.com ).
