Legendary horror film director John Carpenter is eyeing a move into musicals, admitting he'd like to "transform" the "old-fashioned" genre.
Carpenter made a name for himself after shooting slasher classic Halloween and sci-fi chiller The Thing but he insists he's ready to try his hand at a completely new project - involving song and dance.
He tells Britain's Metro newspaper, "(I don't like) the old-fashioned musical, although I'd like to do something to transform it.
"I had a story about a nuclear power plant melting down and I wanted to do it as a musical and have a number about how the core heats up and cools down. That would have been fun."
